Destinations open to Indian nurses
Germany
Official government routes (Triple Win, ODEPC, TOMCOM). Some roles start you as an assistant nurse until your license is recognized — we label those clearly.
United Kingdom
NHS hospitals hire directly and sponsor visas; you’ll take the UK nursing exams (CBT, then OSCE after arrival).
United States
The green-card queue for Indian applicants is years long — possible, but plan for a long wait.
Belgium
A new Kerala–Belgium route — you can register interest now, but there are no open jobs yet.
Gulf states
Verify contract terms: housing, overtime, passport custody, and exit terms.

Typical timeline — India → United Kingdom (NHS)
- 12–4 mo
NMC self-assessment & CBT
A computer test you can take in India, plus an English exam (IELTS or OET).
- 21–2 mo
Trust interview & offer
Sponsor-licensed trust issues a conditional offer and Certificate of Sponsorship.
- 31–2 mo
Health & Care Worker visa
Visa processing; relocation and initial accommodation usually employer-arranged.
- 42–4 mo
OSCE & full registration
Work as pre-registration nurse, sit the OSCE, then enter the NMC register.
