Job Summary
The OR Supervisor, Environmental Service Workers will provide general supervision for operating room supporting staff. Their primary focus is on infection control and prevention and ensuring quality cleanliness of assigned areas
Job Specific Responsibilities
Daily assignments may include but are not limited to:
- Participate in rounding and assessing sanitation and proper cleanliness in patient rooms, and assigned public and ancillary areas
• Facilitate quality inspections
• Participate in hiring, coaching, evaluations, staff development, and employee engagement activities
• Responsible for scheduling staff to ensure adequate coverage
• One-to-one training, assist in controlling and monitoring chemicals, supplies, and equipment, maintaining current adequate records of documentation
• All other assigned duties related to operating room support
Education and Experience
- High school diploma
• + 3 years of environmental experience
• + 1 year leadership experience leading people and/or processes, preferably in a hospital setting
Required Licensures/Certifications/Registrations
- Basic Life Skills Certification (BLS)
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to perform calculations related to quality assurance and improvement inspections
• Basic knowledge of office equipment including a calculator and computer
• Experience in operating floor cleaning equipment
• Able to read, write, and speak English
Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
The position requires close interaction with patients and medical staff throughout the hospital
Physical Capabilities
In this role, incumbent should have mobility and dexterity of arms and legs, able to safely operate power tools and equipment, able to stretch, stoop, and bend to clean furniture and light fixtures. Work requires focus and attention to detail to maintain records.
Environmental/Working Conditions
The work is in a high risk space for exposure to biological and chemical hazards
