Job Summary
The Renovation Technician performs a variety of task related to assisting trades in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, cabinet making, and painting in accordance with DNV standards and applicable codes.
Job Specific Responsibilities
Daily assignments may include but are not limited to:
• Installation of temporary barriers in accordance to infection control standards
• Assist all trades in assuring adequate materials, supplies, and equipment are available or obtained for completion of assignments
• Maintenance and inventory of all department tools
• Pick up and deliver materials to construction sites
• Assist in Fire/Smoke Barrier Work Permits/Standard policy and procedures
• Maintains department cost center time and charges at 95%
• Responsible for completion of all recap and end of project documentation
• Compare vendor prices for purchases of supplies to help maintain departmental budgets and follows prescribed purchasing guidelines
• All other related duties assigned
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
Required Licensures/Certifications/Registrations
- Valid Driver License
Skills and Abilities
- Familiar with minor electrical, painting, mechanical repair and general building techniques
• Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings
• Ability to work in a team environment with different trades
Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
Internal: Requires close interaction with staff, visitors, and patients throughout the hospital
Physical Capabilities
Occasionally exerts a small amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects. Should be able to lift 100 lbs. Work involves walking and/or standing for prolonged periods of time.
Environmental/Working Conditions
This position is mostly subject to inside conditions; however, may be required to be outdoors occasionally. Occasionally may require work with environmental hazards, (i.e., noisy environment, work infectious agents, near power supplies / machinery, etc.) Occasionally may require work with toxic chemicals. Danger from falling cuts and abrasions are present. Subject to call-backs at all times. Telephone or equivalent is required.
