A Brief Overview
Responsible for assisting with the coordination of Pharmacy Business initiatives, to include the 340B Drug Pricing Program for all qualified entities throughout the Avera Health System. Such coordination includes assuring pharmacy initiatives are fully implemented in all areas of qualified use; related records are complete and accurate; and that it meets all primary objectives as defined by leadership. Three primary objectives or goals include implementation of the Pharmacy initiatives in accordance with federal regulations and related interpretations of the program; maximum participation ensuring the institution(s) are achieving maximum benefit of Pharmacy initiatives to include 340B Program pricing through full participation in all qualified areas with all applicable products, including inpatient contracts and contract pharmacies; efficiency of 340B and other initiatives- ensuring that all policies, procedures, and related approaches to program include the most efficient use of staff, resources, and other costs of managing, monitoring, and fully participating in the program.
What you will do
- Reviews and monitors all points of service where 340B Drug Pricing Program. Program participation occurs to ensure policies and procedures are followed accordingly and is responsible to be the institutional program expert with regard to plan qualifications, policies, and procedures.
- Routinely monitors pharmacy utilization records, purchasing accounts to ensure software or tools are working properly and accurately, performing audits and both internal and external assessments to validate processes to optimize programs such as 340B.
- Develops and routinely monitors monthly and annual reports on Pharmacy Initiatives which clearly documents utilization, savings, problem areas and exceptions or discrepancies, to be passed to pharmacy leadership and administration.
- Routinely monitors all areas of Pharmacy initiatives and works to ensure maximum participation regarding 340B, Patient Assistance Programs, Central Distribution and Revenue Integrity.
- Maintain Pharmacy analytics tools to ensure return on investment is documented, reported and maximized.
- Develop process to maximize use of all the available reporting/review tools available to pharmacy.
- Routinely review 340B formulary pricing, potential alternatives, and possible additional savings as a result of GPO formulary management.
- Works directly with manufacturers as well as through GPO and peer professional relationships maximize 340B Program, Patient Assistance Programs, Central Distribution and Revenue Integrity participation.
- Develops and monitors routine reports that are integrated into the inventory process and software, allowing for concise information to be communicated to pharmacists and technicians to ensure that consistent processes are followed.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- Bachelor's

- 1-3 years background in hospital business operations
