A Brief Overview
​​The Payroll Associate is responsible for accurately entering payroll data as needed and possessing a complete understanding of all payroll practices, policies, contracts, and procedures. This ensures that all employees are compensated according to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) while maintaining accurate employee/payroll records. Provides support to the current time and attendance and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems as needed. Responsible for the timely and courteous follow-up to all customer inquiries.
What you will do
- Calculates overtime, shift differentials, special pay adjustments, and applicable pay rates with accuracy.
- Computes taxes, benefit premiums, and all other required deductions to ensure correct net pay.
- Assists employees in understanding their pay, deductions, and adjustments; researches issues and resolves discrepancies promptly.
- Prepares and maintains payroll reports, ensuring all payroll data is accurately compiled and presented.
- Processes payroll updates—including deductions, corrections, and other employee changes—and verifies entries for accuracy and completeness.
- Supports timekeeping and attendance activities in accordance with established procedures.
- Administers wage garnishments, tax levies, and child support orders in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provides assistance with workers’ compensation and other leave related pay practices as needed.
- Completes income verifications for authorized parties upon receipt of proper employee consent.
- Confirms new hire employment information with applicable agencies and resolves any identified errors.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- Technical Certificate Certificate from college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1-3 years payroll experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
