Position Summary

# Administer Physical Therapy and treatment under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.# # Position Relationships: # A.####### Responsible to:################### Director of PM#R and Physical Therapist ########################################################### B.####### Workers Supervised:########## None # C.####### Interrelationships:############### Patients and their families, physicians and nurses, departmental and hospital personnel. # Responsibilities and Authorities: # ########### A.####### Overall:######### # Responsible for treating patients using Physical Therapy procedures and techniques within recognized standards, under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. # Work Performed: # Performs other duties as assigned by the department#s management staff. # As patient care and/or Hospital need dictates, both the assigned shift and work station may be changed by the department. # Participates in and promotes the #I CARE Advantage# service philosophy of Integrity, Customer Centered, Accountability, Respect and Excellence. # Performs essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations. # Administers Physical Therapy treatment to patients. # Completes medical documentation in an accurate and timely manner, consistent with rules and regulations. # Supervises and delegates appropriately to Therapy Aides. # Attends hospital meetings and committee work as assigned. # Participates in rotating to necessary areas, setting will include but not limited to outpatient, wound care, rehab, acute care, and sports medicine, to provide treatment coverage to patients where needed. # Performance Factors Used to Evaluate Employee: # Implements appropriate care to the following age groups: (circle all that apply) 1.######## Neonates################## 4.######## Adult 2.######## Pediatric################### 5.######## Geriatric 3.######## Adolescent############### 6.######## Sports Medicine # Demonstrates independence in daily duties and does so in a timely manner. # Demonstrates proficiency in Physical Therapy techniques, and is responsible for self-growth and learning. # Demonstrates ability to plan and coordinate treatment area for self and those supervised. # Demonstrates good supervisory skills with Aides. # Role model # reflects professional attitude and work ethics through attendance, appearance, and behavior. # Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively; follows appropriate channels of communication. #

Qualifications

• # ########### A.####### Education: # Currently licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the State of Texas. Current BLS Certification through American Heart Association within 90 days of hire. # C.####### Job Knowledge: # Knowledge of procedures and treatments in Physical Therapy with an emphasis on total patient care.# Must have understanding of basic supervision. # Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions: # Patient lifting and transferring. # Lifting and pushing of heavy and light equipment. # Constant standing and walking. # # # #
