  • Serve as the primary contracting voice for NPPC Pharmacy category negotiations with manufacturers and key partners, ensuring consistent strategy, messaging, and decision support across member systems.
  • Negotiate and structure agreements including rebates, price protections, conversion incentives, and multi-year terms in partnership with legal/finance/contracting.
  • Review pharmacy purchasing and usage data to identify the highest-cost and highest-volume drugs, identify opportunities for facilities to use preferred contract products, and prioritize for contract savings and standardization.
  • Establish, monitor, and report utilization baselines and performance (market share, compliance to preferred products/manufacturers, price compliance), including benchmarking and executive-level performance reporting.
  • Design and coordinate conversion strategies for biosimilars/generics (pre-launch planning, timing, communications, adoption playbooks) in collaboration with pharmacy leadership and external partners.
  • Drive standardization and adoption at scale by aligning pharmacy, supply chain, finance, and operational leaders on clinical constraints, standardization goals, and contracting priorities; build consensus and remove barriers to adoption.
  • Provide clear contracting guidance and communications to facilities and affiliates on preferred manufacturers/products, purchasing expectations, exceptions handling, and when/why to communicate even when purchase volume may be low.
  • Govern contract performance and financial integrity, including rebate tracking/validation, discrepancy resolution (e.g., missed/incorrect rebates), and renegotiation or exit of underperforming agreements.
  • Identify and deliver measurable value, including savings attribution, leakage reduction, and efficiency/outcome enhancements tied directly to contracting strategy and adoption performance.
