Job Description The primary responsibility of the Coffee Shop Barista is to provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times. Coffee Shop Barista is responsible for brewing specialty coffees and beverages in The Coffee Shop. This position is responsible for operating a cash register, maintaining their tills, and receiving payments from customers for goods and services sold. This position also ensures that the retail areas are properly stocked and clean at all times. SHIFT & SCHEDULE: PRN, Shifts Vary ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS Provides quality customer service at all times. Makes specialty beverages and serves customers at The Coffee Shop Operates beverage machines (Verismo 701 Automatic Brewer, Bunn Coffee Brewer, Tea Brewer, blenders, etc.) Has knowledge of all recipes for beverages to be served. Knows how to make all beverages in a timely/efficient manner. Promotes specials and uses suggestive selling techniques to market and sell coffee shop items. Restocks and maintain par levels of all syrups, sauces, and coffee shop items. Restocks utensils, condiments, cups, lids, plates and other paper goods as needed Checks out coffee shop customers during hours of operation. Records accurately what patrons are buying in cash register system. Collects correct amount of money for goods sold. Exhibits proper use of cash register according to established procedure. Follows all Midland Memorial Hospital cash handling procedures and policies. Responsible for accurately reporting all transactions at the end of the shift, and for turning in all cash collected during their shift. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The individual must be able to: Ø Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.
