Work Shift: 12 Hours - Day Shifts (United States of America) Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Compensation: Union Position: No Department Details Summary The Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner provides advanced nursing care to patients of all ages, from infants to older adults. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, treating, and managing acute and chronic illnesses, promoting health and wellness, and working in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers. Job Description Conduct comprehensive physical exams and health assessments Obtain and interpret patient histories and diagnostic tests Diagnose and treat common acute and chronic medical conditions Prescribe medications and therapeutic treatments within the scope of practice Develop and implement individualized care plans Provide health education and counseling on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle choices Manage follow-up care and coordinate referrals to specialists when needed Perform minor procedures as appropriate (e.g., wound care, suturing) Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record system Participate in quality improvement and practice initiatives Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based practice guidelines. Qualifications Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. If APRN was licensed prior to August 1, 1995, master's degree in nursing is preferred. **** Emergency Department Schedule 12 hour shifts (10 am to 10 pm), 1.0 FTE, every 4th weekend, holidays that fall on scheduled weekend New Grads will be considered Position duties: Provide evaluation and treatment of patients presenting to the Emergency Department in collaboration with the attending physician or other ED provider. Obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations, and develop appropriate assessment and treatment plans. Diagnose and manage acute and urgent medical conditions within the APP's scope of practice. Order and interpret appropriate laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, and other studies. Perform procedures appropriate to the APP's training, experience, and clinical privileges. Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care. Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate patient care. Assist with the management and stabilization of emergency and critically ill patients. Arrange appropriate consultations, admissions, transfers, and follow-up care in collaboration with the supervising or collaborating provider. Required 1.0 FTE **** Experience in primary care or family medicine preferred Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in each state of practice. Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice. State Controlled Substance License (if required by State) National board certification as a Family (FNP-C) or (FNP-BC) Obtains and subsequently maintains required specific competencies and certifications as outlined on privilege form. Privileging documents and related credentialing requirements will supersede this job description in defining minimum qualifications, criteria, and scope of practice, if variation between documents exists.
