A Brief Overview
Responsible for conducting continual inventory of supplies. Enters and completes purchase requisitions following principles as they relate to quality, need, availability and cost. Receives products, distributes and delivers to designated work areas. Responsible for ensuring acceptability and documentation required for supplies delivered. Responsible for turning over rooms.
What you will do
- Prepares purchase requisitions for the operating room in accordance with Avera purchasing policies.
- Maintains inventory for all supplies maintained in the designated OR locations.
- Confers with Leaders about the need for special order supplies.
- Performs ongoing inventory assessment on a daily basis, and notifies the Leader of back order supplies, and checks the workroom for outdated supplies and removes.
- Assists the staff with restocking of supplies in the individual operating rooms.
- Responsible for assisting with room turnover between cases and sets up for the next case. May include removal of soiled laundry, trash and cleaning and disinfecting of rooms and equipment.
- Collects specimens, blood products, orders and equipment and delivers to appropriate destinations.
- Reports defective and damaged equipment and supplies.

Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- High School or GED Equivalent
- Previous experience in the medical field
